About Anna Price Pitjara
Anna Price Pitjara (Petyarre) was born in 1960 at the Boundary Bore area of the former Utopia Station. She is the daughter of the late Glory Ngale and niece to the late famous Emily Kame Kngwarreye.
Anna Began painting in the early 1980’s under the tutelage of Gloria Petyarre. She initially painted the Yam seed dreaming the story associated with her plant totem. The Bush Yam has been a staple food source for the Anmatyerre people for many, many years. The seeds that form and scatter from the plant are also ground up to make flour.
Anna is a creative and extremely talented artist who is known for her intricate dotting works which represent her country and its ceremonial sites at Boundary Bore.
She is a highly regarded Aboriginal Artist who has had her work exhibited extensively throughout Australia and overseas.
